QUALIFICATION \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eRULES \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eWomen who themselves are, or are or were related either as Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt or Niece to, or are otherwise in direct descent from Judges, Barristers or Solicitors. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eApplications for membership will be considered from candidates who have a handicap index of 25.0 or under, however the Committee may exercise their discretion in favour of a candidate with a handicap index above 25.0, who, in the opinion of the Committee, has reasonable prospects of attaining a handicap index of 25.0 or less. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eNo member may propose a candidate for election until she has herself been a member for two years NOR may any member nominate or second more than one candidate in any period of one year save with the consent of the Committee. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eCandidates for election, duly proposed and seconded, may be elected at any Meeting of the Committee of the Association or by written consent of the equivalent number which would represent a quorum of the Committee. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eThe total membership of the Association may be limited to such number as the Committee shall from time to time determine. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e3. MANAGEMENT \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003eT\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003ehe affairs of the Association shall be managed by a Committee consisting of the Officers, namely: The President, Captain, Vice Captain, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Secretary, (all of whom shall be \u0027ex officio\u0027 members of the Committee) and up to six other members, one of whom may act as Honorary Assistant Secretary. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eAll of the above shall be elected at an Annual General Meeting. The Committee may co-opt a person to the Committee during the year to fill a vacancy. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePROVIDED THAT \u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e(a) The President shall be elected at an Annual General Meeting for a term of three years only. This term may be extended by one year by agreement between the Committee and the President. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e(b) The Captain shall be eligible for re-election as Captain for a second consecutive year but thereafter shall not be eligible for re-election as Captain until two years have elapsed. She may however remain an \u0027ex officio\u0027 member of the Committee for the year following the expiration of her captaincy. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e(c) As regards the other members of the Committee above referred to they shall be elected for a period of three years. As each Member\u0027s period of three years expires she shall retire from the Committee and shall not be eligible for re-election until after the lapse of one year (otherwise than in an \u0027ex officio\u0027 capacity). \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eAs approved at AGM on 2 October 2024 - 1 - \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNOMINATIONS\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e for election as Officers and other members of the Committee must be given in writing to the Honorary Secretary SEVEN days before the Annual General Meeting.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e(d) Any Committee Member who has not attended one third of the Committee Meetings during a year in office shall automatically retire from the Committee at the end of the year and shall not be eligible for re-election until a satisfactory explanation is given to the Committee. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e(e) At all Committee Meetings the Captain shall preside or failing her the Vice Captain. If neither is available a Chair shall be elected by the members present. The Captain (or Vice Captain or Chair as the case maybe) shall have the casting vote. Four shall be a quorum. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e4. THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING\u003c/span\u003e \u003c/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eshall be held on the afternoon of the Autumn Meeting. At least 21 days of notice shall be given of the time and place of such Meeting to the members by the Honorary Secretary. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eAt the Annual General Meeting the President shall preside or failing her the Captain. This may be reviewed at any Annual General Meeting. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eIf not paid by 1st April the Honorary Treasurer shall give notice to any member in arrear that if still unpaid by the 1st July she shall cease to be a member unless a satisfactory explanation is given to the Committee. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eA member shall not compete at any Meeting until her subscription is paid.\u003cbr\u003eAn ENTRANCE FEE of \u003cstrong\u003eFORTY \u003c/strong\u003epounds will be charged to all new members. All new members shall \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003epay an annual subscription of \u003cstrong\u003e£40.00\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eA member who has reached the age of 80 and who has been a member for at least 10 years shall be entitled to a waiver of the Annual Subscription. Any such member may apply to The Honorary Secretary for such waiver of the Annual Subscription. A member who is entitled to the waiver of her subscription shall still be entitled to compete at any Meeting. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eResignations must be sent to the Honorary Secretary on or before 1st December. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e6. THE HONORARY SECRETARY\u003c/span\u003e \u003c/strong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eshall keep \u003cstrong\u003eMINUTES \u003c/strong\u003eof all proceedings and the Honorary Treasurer shall keep \u003cstrong\u003eACCOUNTS \u003c/strong\u003eof all monies received and paid and shall present a Statement of Accounts at the Annual General Meeting. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e7. COMPETITIONS AND MATCHES\u003c/strong\u003e.\u003c/span\u003e \u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eMeetings will be held from time to time each year, particulars of which will be sent to each member. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eAll Competitions to be played under current handicap indices in conjunction with the slope index for the course at which competition or match is played. \u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003eMatches will be arranged if possible with other Associations and Clubs.\u0026nbsp;\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 24px;\u0022\u003e8. INTER ASSOCIATION COMPETITIONS.\u003c/span\u003e \u003c/strong\u003eRule 5 (amended December 1997) reads as follows: \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1.5;\u0022\u003e\u003cspan style=\u0022font-size: 20px;\u0022\u003e\u0022A player who has played for one Association in the Wilton Shield may not in the same year play for a different Association in the Inter-Association Cup, and vice-versa should in any year the Inter- Association Cup be played for before the Wilton Shield.
